Pinchin is looking for an experienced GIS Specialist to join the Integrated Digital Services group.
Reporting to the Geomatics Data Manager the GIS Specialist is responsible for design, develop, and implement systems and databases to access and store geospatial data services across the Company. The GIS Specialist will engage collaboratively with the Integrated Digital Services and the Central Graphic Team (the Group) to support the efficient delivery of figures, designing new templates and procedures, and adopting and implementing interactive visualization technologies.
What You’ll Do at Pinchin:
Design, develop and implement systems and databases for geospatial data
Review geospatial data for accuracy, data preparation and cleanup
Perform 2D and 3D geospatial modeling and spatial analysis
Build, update and maintain databases and GIS software and hardware
Administer and troubleshoot applications and GIS solutions
Create and/or update maps using Esri software (ArcMap, ArcSDE, ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, & ArcGIS Enterprise)
Cartographic production, data compilation/editing/creation, geodatabase design and creation, GIS analysis, geoprocessing, georeferencing, data conversion and metadata implementation
Edit, revise, update and correct existing Esri digital maps. Maintain quality control and inspect final compositions to ensure completeness and accuracy
Create data & maps to publish to ArcGIS Server and/or ArcGIS Online for use in Mobile and Internet based GIS
Help support other internal technicians in their data needs for innovation, research, and technology into 3D modeling for Drone data
Establish good rapport and build relationships with peers and clients by responding to requests and communicating information in a timely manner. Ensure a broad understanding of in-house departmental requirements and all internal reference materials
Stay abreast of activities affecting technology markets and industry. Participate in ESRI, SAFE, and Autodesk webinars to increase awareness of emerging issues and technology
Perform other GIS Branch duties as required
What you bring to Pinchin team
B.A. Sc., B.Sc., GISP, or related technical diploma with a minimum 5 years of experience
Working knowledge of ArcGIS Enterprise Platform (ArcMap, ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Server) and AutoCAD
Extensive CAD and GIS experience working within a shared-service environment
Demonstrable experience of data integration, developing geodatabases and schemas, managing, and maintaining geospatial datasets
ESRI Enterprise Platform, ArcGIS Desktop, ArcGIS Pro, and ArcSDE products AutoCAD and Civil 3D
Familiarity with integration of CAD data into GIS format is preferred
Working knowledge of Global Mapper & Safe Software FME is preferred
Work experience programming using Python and applying complex SQL commands to a modern fully relational database is an asset
Strong skills in Microsoft Office Products (Teams, Planner, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
Must be able to read, comprehend and prove all written reports and correspondence
Must have excellent verbal and oral communication skills
Excellent organizational skills, accuracy and attention to detail required
