The On-Call Scheduler will work remotely evenings and weekends and will flex their hours to address weekend staffing issues. As a scheduler, your main function is to arrange for shift coverage or additional personnel as required by Community Services.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Maintain and coordinate master site/employee schedule to fill shifts as
needed.
Manage and maintain employee schedules, including changing
shifts/employees immediately to ensure sites are staffed appropriately.
Update and maintain system to reflect holidays, vacations, home visits,
appointments, etc.
Communicate regularly with staff regarding staff assignments and issues.
Keep phone list updated, and current staff information updated in system.
Communicate on a regular basis with Coordinators and Program Manager
regarding open shifts to keep continuity of client care.
Ensure staff and clients are aware of schedules on a regular basis.
Works collaboratively with managers on scheduling issues.
Organizes on-site orientation, training, and meetings for Community Services
relief employees.
Works with Relief Coordinator if there are patterns of call-in to address
accountability.
Maintains employee and client confidence and protects operations by keeping
information confidential.
Updates employee data in scheduling system.
Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Working Conditions/Physical Demands:
This position regularly requires weekend work that may be longer than expected.
This position is sedentary in nature.
Lifting requirements are less than five pounds.
The employee will frequently talk on the phone and type on a computer to
communicate and fill shifts.
The employee’s choice of work environment must have reliable cell phone coverage.
High speed internet is required to access our scheduling software
This is a work-from-home position.
Fast paced work environment with multiple conflicting priorities.
Duties performed are mainly sedentary in nature: data entry, word processing, phone calls, emailing.
Requirements:
High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required. University/college degree is an asset.
Previous administrative experience preferred.
Proficient in Microsoft Office.
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
Excellent organizational skills.
Experience working with individuals with disabilities an asset.
Professional and confidential in all respects.
Satisfactory criminal record check.
