About the Role
This is not a passive role.
A Technical Planning Specialist sits at the intersection of Sales and Production, translating customer requirements and sales opportunities into actionable production plans, material selections, and job specifications.
You will work closely with senior operations leadership, learning the materials, equipment, structures, and processes that make our operation run. You will develop a working knowledge of what we make, how we make it, and why we choose one material or manufacturing approach over another. You will use that knowledge to help the business move faster, smarter, and more efficiently.
If you are the kind of person who thrives in a dynamic environment, enjoys juggling priorities, and gets genuine satisfaction from solving problems, this role was built for you.
Key Responsibilities:
- Intake new jobs and sales opportunities, assess priorities, and coordinate internally between the Sales team and Production.
- Build and manage job specifications, including materials, structures, equipment routing, tooling requirements, and ink systems.
- Ensure customer requirements and technical specifications are accurately captured and communicated to Operations.
- Work with senior operations leadership to ensure materials are staged appropriately and jobs are sequenced efficiently.
- Learn the technical aspects of every job order, including manufacturing processes, material capabilities, equipment limitations, and production requirements.
- Develop a working understanding of Fastik's machinery, materials, and production capabilities.
- Track job status and identify issues before they become problems.
- Maintain accurate job documentation and specifications within company systems.
- Learn and operate the Radius ERP system to manage job data and planning workflows.
- Leverage AI tools as part of your daily workflow to improve efficiency and decision-making.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives related to planning, workflow management, and job execution.
Qualifications:
The non-negotiables:
- You're an action-taker. When something needs to happen, you make it happen.
- You have strong people skills and can work comfortably across a sales team and a production floor.
- You have genuine commercial awareness. You understand urgency, opportunity, and business context without needing it spelled out.
- When you're taught something technical, it sticks. You retain it, apply it, and build on it.
- You're tech-savvy and genuinely excited about using AI tools to do your job better.
- You're a natural multi-tasker who can manage competing priorities without losing the thread.
Nice to Have:
- Background in packaging, printing, manufacturing, or a related industry.
- Experience working with product specifications, equipment processes, or manufacturing materials.
- Prior experience in a coordination, planning, operations, or project support role.
- Familiarity with ERP systems such as Radius.
Work Environment
This role operates between the office and the manufacturing floor in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment. Success requires adaptability, strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a willingness to continuously learn the technical aspects of the business.
