Family School Liaison Counsellor – 1.0 FTE - Probationary
North High School Campus
Located in Calgary, Foundations for the Future Charter Academy (FFCA) is the largest
public charter school in Alberta, serving over 4000 students in eight campuses
throughout the city. We offer educational programming through a distinctive Direct
Instruction Teaching and Learning Framework (DITLF) that has been refined and
developed within the Alberta context for students from Kindergarten to Grade 12. Our

Position Summary
A Family School Liaison Counsellor is required for a probationary position at the North
High School Campus beginning August 18, 2026.
The role of the Family School Liaison Counsellor is varied, ranging from general
support for the work of all students and staff members to particular contributions in
the areas of program development and campus activities. As well, the main focus
of the Counsellor position will be to work with students at risk in terms of their social
– emotional behavior, performance and readiness to learn.
Responsibilities

c. Adheres to confidentiality and ethical guidelines
d. Attends work punctually and on a regular basis
2. Student Data Management
a. Establishes files for students at risk, as recommended by
administration, with regard to behavior, performance and learning
difficulties.
b. Maintaining anecdotal notes as a part of student files.
c. In consultation with administration, communicating regularly and as
needed with students, teachers, parents and other agencies concerned
with students at risk.
d. Making recommendations to teachers, parents and administration
regarding the needs of students in this category.
