Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Railcar Mechanic to join our maintenance team. Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough inspections of railcars to identify mechanical issues, safety concerns, and maintenance needs.
- Perform repairs on various railcar components, including braking systems, wheelsets, couplers, and structural elements.
- Utilize hand tools and power tools effectively to disassemble, repair, and reassemble railcar parts.
- Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs performed, and parts used for compliance and tracking purposes.
- Troubleshoot mechanical problems efficiently to minimize downtime and ensure operational readiness.
- Follow safety protocols rigorously during all maintenance procedures to uphold workplace safety standards.
- Assist in preventive maintenance programs by performing routine checks and servicing as scheduled.
- Collaborate with team members to prioritize repair tasks and coordinate work schedules for maximum efficiency.
Requirements
- Proven mechanical knowledge with experience in railcar or heavy equipment maintenance preferred.
- Proficiency in using hand tools such as wrenches, screwdrivers, pliers, and hammers.
- Experience operating power tools including drills, grinders, impact wrenches, and pneumatic tools.
- Ability to read technical manuals, diagrams, and schematics accurately.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Commitment to safety standards and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
Pay: $30.00 per hour
