Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and organized Veterinary Assistant/Receptionist to join our veterinary team. This dual-role position involves providing exceptional care to our animal patients while delivering outstanding customer service to pet owners. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, friendly, and capable of handling a variety of tasks in a fast-paced environment. Laboratory experience is a plus, as it will support the efficient operation of our veterinary services.
Responsibilities
- Greet clients and their pets warmly, ensuring a positive experience from check-in to check-out
- Schedule appointments, manage client records, and handle phone inquiries efficiently
- Assist veterinarians during examinations and procedures, including restraining animals and preparing supplies
- Perform basic laboratory tasks such as collecting samples, running tests, and recording results accurately
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of treatment areas, kennels, and laboratory spaces
- Administer medications or treatments as directed by veterinarians
- Manage inventory of medical supplies and ensure proper storage
- Provide compassionate care to animals, including feeding, bathing, and monitoring their well-being
Requirements
- Previous experience in a veterinary setting or laboratory environment is preferred
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with clients and team members
- Ability to handle animals gently and confidently during examinations and procedures
- Ability to multitask effectively in a busy environment
- Compassionate attitude towards animals and pet owners
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities throughout the day
