We immediately require a Qualified Aquatic Environment Specialist (QAES) and Wetland Specialist with a minimum 3-5 years experience to conduct watercourse and wetland assessments in the oil and gas industry. This can be a contract or employment position and work will be based preferably in Grande Prairie, Alberta. The successful candidate will:
· Possess a detailed knowledge of aquatic environments including fish and fish habitat, management and assessment
· Experience in conducting watercourse and aquatic assessments and preparing recommendations to maintain the productive capacity of aquatic habitat
· Experience in construction monitoring for watercourse crossings (e.g., pipeline crossings, installing culverts, bridges, etc.)
· Have a comprehensive understanding of the Alberta Wetland Policy
· Experience in preparing Wetland Assessment and Impact Reports (WAIR) and performing field work using the ABWRET-A Tool
· Possess a strong working knowledge of the oil and gas industry
· Have strong verbal and written communication skills, exemplary interpersonal skills, and be detail oriented and organized
· Provide precise attention to detail and have the ability to produce professional quality deliverables on time and on budget
· Must have P. Biology or eligible for accreditation through the Alberta Society of Professional Biologists

· Establish cost estimates for projects
· Travel for fieldwork to complete assessments
· Ensure all field work has been documented and uploaded to site specific files
· Remain current with environmental legislation and regulatory updates
· Prepare and review completed reports for accuracy and formatting
