Gilead Sciences in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada is seeking a knowledgeable and motivated professional capable of working effectively in a multi-disciplinary team environment. The successful candidate will assume a full-time employment role in the capacity of Senior Research Associate I, Analytical Operations in Gilead Alberta’s Analytical Operations department.

A Senior Research Associate I is required within the Analytical Development (AD) group in Analytical Chemistry at Gilead Alberta. This is a key business role within Analytical Development. Knowledge in HPLC, GC, titration, KF, and laboratory investigation support is required. This individual will support clinical projects.

A Senior Research Associate I, Analytical Operations will support method development, validation, and transfer activities, as well as to provide timely analytical support to Pharmaceutical Development.

Job Responsibilities:
Plans and executes assigned experiments that support development activities and project goals.
Selects appropriate methods and techniques in performing experiments.
Develops analytical methods.
Recommends alternatives, researches new methods and techniques and proactively seeks out senior personnel to discuss potential solutions to problems.
Participates in group meetings. Presents results of work, interprets data, and draws conclusions regarding presented material and nature of work.
Uses good verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills to provide insight into the processes used to achieve results of assigned tasks.
Recognize anomalous and inconsistent results and interpret experimental outcomes.
Continues to develop skills in data analysis and ability to evaluate quality of data.
Trains new analysts on specific analytical techniques.
Writes and revises test methods, reports and memos.

Specific Education & Experience Requirements:
2+ years of experience with BA or BS degree in Chemistry or Biology.
MS in Chemistry or Biology with 0+ industry experience.
Knowledge in HPLC, GC, titration, KF, and laboratory investigation support
