Who We Are:
Tri-County Community Support Services (TCCSS) is a FOCUS Accredited developmental services agency that provides specialized supports and services for individuals, families and service providers that contribute to the social inclusion and quality of life of persons with developmental disabilities and/or Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD).
Where We Live and Work:
Located in the beautiful Kawartha Lakes, Peterborough, Ontario is an hour and a half drive East from Toronto, Ontario. Our population is 75,000 and growing, we have lots of local businesses and a strong arts and entertainment culture. There is Trent University and Fleming College in our area as well as many new and growing businesses. We are similar to the Muskoka Lakes region with all of our natural beauty, green outdoor space and tranquil waterways.
Provides individual and group counselling to clients with Intellectual Disabilities/Autism Spectrum Disorders, who are experiencing mental health concerns or have a suspected mental health concern
Builds capacity in the areas of healthy sexuality, identifies treatment targets and plans to produce desired changes and improve the client’s quality of life
Collaborates with MacKenzie Health, Children’s Aid Society, Peterborough Regional Hospital to provide service for a period of six months
Participates in medical appointments, treatment planning/case conferences and accesses Forensic Psychiatric services as needed
Researches evidence based treatment models, monitors and evaluates treatment plans
Completes intakes, assessments, interventions, safety plans and reports
Successful completion of Master’s Social Work degree with the ability to become a Registered Social Worker
2-5 years of experience in developmental services with individuals with Intellectual Disabilities, Autism, diagnosed mental health concerns or suspected mental health concerns
Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Trauma and Interpersonal Psychotherapy is an asset.
Experience providing skills training, grief therapy and anger management is an asset.
Compassionate and responsible supporter of people, their families, and community partners
Ability to work flexible hours
Computer proficiency and excellent communication skills
A valid driver’s license and insurance, access to a reliable vehicle and ability to drive in various weather conditions
