Overview:
We are looking for a certified personal service worker to help one of our clients two days weekly for a three hour shift for a total of six hours per week. The potential for more hours in the future is very possible.
Bilingualism is preferred, but not essential. We will consider personal service workers who only recently obtained their certifications.
Since the assignment is in the Rockland area and we will likely have more clients there in the near future, a PSW who resides in Rockland would be ideal, but we would consider individuals residing in the Orleans area, who are prepared to commute to Rockland. Mileage will be paid in addition to the hourly rate of $23-$26 per hour, depending on experience.
Responsibilities:
- Assist clients with daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
- Provide companionship and engage clients in meaningful activities
- Assist with meal preparation and ensure proper nutrition
- Perform light housekeeping duties and maintain a clean and safe environment
- Assist with medication reminders
- Monitor and report changes in clients' health status to the appropriate healthcare professionals
- Accompany clients to appointments and errands as needed
- Provide emotional support and encouragement to clients and their families
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Personal Support Worker (PSW) certification (Required)
-CPR certification
- Ability to communicate effectively and follow instructions
- Compassionate, patient, and reliable
- Ability to handle physical demands of the job, including lifting and transferring clients
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Ability to speak French preferred
