What to Expect
The Engineering Technician is responsible for optimizing CNC machining processes, ensuring high-quality production, and driving continuous improvement in a precision CNC machine shop environment. This role bridges engineering design, production execution, and operational efficiency, ensuring that manufacturing processes are safe, cost-effective, and aligned with quality and delivery goals.
What You'll Do
- Develop, validate, and document CNC machining processes for new and existing parts

Optimize toolpaths, cutting parameters, and fixture designs to enhance cycle time, tool life, and part quality

Manage CAD/CAM integration, ensuring design manufacturability (DFM) and maintaining program libraries and SOPs

Support machine setup, first-article inspection (FAI), and diagnose machining issues such as dimensional inaccuracies

Lead root cause analysis (RCA) for production problems and collaborate with QA to ensure compliance and audit readiness

Drive initiatives to reduce waste, increase throughput, and track KPIs like OEE and scrap rate

Train machinists on processes and safety protocols while collaborating cross-functionally with procurement and planning teams
What You'll Bring
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience

7+ years of experience in CNC manufacturing environments, ideally within aerospace, automotive, or medical industries

Proven expertise in CNC programming using G-code, conversational programming, and CAM software

Proficiency with CAD/CAM tools, GD&T, metrology instruments, and ERP systems

Strong analytical problem-solving abilities combined with excellent communication and teamwork skills

Preferred qualifications include CNC certifications, multi-axis machining experience, and knowledge of material science
