We’re looking for a Truck Driver at Uniqpol’s brand store in Brantford, who will join our friendly staff for a part-time position and be responsible for working closely with customers and other counterpersons.
Requirements & abilities
- Must speak English.
- Minimum age for employment is 21.
- A clean driving record with no major violations or accidents within 3 years.
- Must have a valid full G license.
- Effective communication skills to interact professionally with dispatchers, customers, and colleagues.
- Previous experience as a truck driver minimum 5 years.
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the job, which include lifting, bending, and long hours of sitting or standing.
- Must be punctual, have a good attendance record and be available to work on Wednesday and Thursday.
- Familiarity with provincial transportation regulations and safety standards governing the operation of commercial vehicles.
- Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate completion of paperwork, adherence to routes, and proper handling of cargo.
- Dependable and punctual with a strong work ethic to ensure on-time delivery and customer satisfaction.
- Excellent driving skills with the ability to operate trucks safely in various road and weather conditions.
- Strong navigational skills to plan routes and effectively use GPS systems or maps to ensure timely and efficient deliveries.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for coming to work for morning shifts.
- Drive and operate various types of trucks, adhering to all traffic laws and regulations.
- Transporting goods and materials over land to and from manufacturing plants, distribution centers, or retail and customer locations in the GTA and london.
- Responsible for safely loading and unloading cargo and securing loads to prevent shifting or damage during transport.
- Follow the most efficient routes for timely delivery, considering factors such as traffic and weather conditions.
- Maintain accurate driving and delivery logs, including fuel consumption, hours of service, and any incidents or delays encountered during transport.
- Adhere to all provincial regulations governing the transportation of goods, including weight limits and hours of service.
- Provide excellent customer service by interacting professionally with clients during delivery and pickup, addressing any concerns or questions they may have.
- Keep the truck clean and organized, both inside the cab and in the cargo area, to ensure a safe and sanitary working environment.
- Complete and submit all required paperwork, such as delivery confirmations, invoices, and incident reports, accurately and on time.
- Be flexible and adaptable to changes in schedules, routes, or assignments as dictated by the needs of the business or unexpected circumstances.
- Represent the company in a professional manner at all times, exhibiting good judgment and courtesy in interactions with colleagues and the public.
