Position Summary:
The Medical Office Assistant/Clinic Assistant is a qualified individual charged with the responsibility of clinical and administrative duties under the supervision of a physician and direction of the physician and/or Clinic Manager to assist in patient care and administration.
What you will be doing:

Coordinate patient care through the clinic, exam room and lab

Taking and documenting vital signs (i.e. Blood pressure, heart rate, height and weight)

Venipuncture (certification required)
-
Injections (certification required)
-
Interview patients to complete intake forms or other documents

Assist patients complete medical history forms
-
Under supervision and direction of a physician, simple wound management
-
Prepare exam rooms; select, setup and maintain medical supplies and equipment for all examinations and procedures

Clean and sterilize exam rooms, materials and instruments and disposing of contaminated supplies or equipment

Check inventory and assist with ordering of medical supplies and materials

Greeting and registering patients
-
Scheduling appointments
-
EMR documentation/medical record maintenance

Billing and coding
-
Complete insurance and other claim forms

Assisting with call backs, referrals, scanning, faxing, paper clipping and filing

Assisting manager, nursing and reception staff as required

Adhere to all Health & Safety Regulations

Attend and make contributions at clinic meetings and training sessions
You have:

Must have a high school diploma in addition to a Medical Office Assistant and/or OSMT Lab Tech from an accredited school.

Injection certification is an asset.

The MOA must have strong interpersonal and communication skills.

The ability to maintain patient privacy and confidentiality.

Proficiency in the use of computers and office equipment.
The salary offered for this position falls within a specified salary range and will be determined based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to the candidate's experience, qualifications, skills, and the specific needs of the organization.
