Position Overview: We are looking for a dedicated and skilled Orthodontic Assistant to join our esteemed orthodontic practice. As an Orthodontic Assistant, you will play a pivotal role in assisting with various clinical and administrative tasks, ensuring smooth patient experiences and the delivery of high-quality orthodontic care. Key Responsibilities:
Chair-Side Assistance: Provide chair-side assistance to orthodontists during patient appointments, anticipating their needs and ensuring the efficient flow of procedures.
Patient Care: Greet and prepare patients for their orthodontic treatments, making them feel comfortable and addressing any questions or concerns they may have.
Sterilization and Infection Control: Strictly adhere to infection control protocols, maintaining a clean and safe environment by sterilizing instruments, equipment, and treatment areas.
Radiography and Imaging: Capture dental radiographs, digital scans and images as required for diagnostic purposes, ensuring the accuracy and quality of records.
Records Management: Accurately maintain patient records, including treatment notes, progress charts, and relevant documentation.
Educational Support: Assist in educating patients about orthodontic treatment procedures, oral hygiene practices, and proper care for appliances.
Appointment Coordination: Help manage appointment schedules, confirm appointments, and communicate with patients regarding treatment plans and scheduling changes.
Office Support: Provide administrative support, such as managing phone calls, processing paperwork, taking payments and assisting with billing and insurance coordination.
Requirements:
Education and Certification: High school diploma or equivalent is required. Completion of an accredited dental assisting program is required. Additional orthodontic training is preferred.
Certification and Licensing: A valid NDAEB certificate is mandatory. HARP certification is required.
Orthodontic Knowledge: Familiarity with orthodontic procedures, instruments, and terminology is preferable.
Clinical Skills: Proficiency in chair-side assistance, taking digital scans, and performing orthodontic appliance maintenance.
Radiography Expertise: Competence in capturing and processing dental radiographs and images.
Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with patients and team members.
Detail-Oriented: Strong attention to detail in maintaining patient records and adhering to sterilization protocols.
Team Player: Ability to work harmoniously within a multidisciplinary team and support colleagues.
Empathy and Compassion: Demonstrated empathy and compassion in handling patient concerns and creating a welcoming atmosphere.

Pay: $21.00-$35.00 per hour

- Dental Assisting: 1 year (preferred)
