Job Description:
Data Engineer
This role is responsible for designing, building, and optimizing enterprise data pipelines that collect, transform, store, and prepare data for reporting, analytics, machine learning, and AI initiatives. The Data Engineer ensures data is reliable, secure, accessible, and ready for business intelligence and advanced analytics while working closely with analysts, data scientists, architects, and business stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and maintain ETL/ELT data pipelines.
- Extract, transform, and integrate data from multiple sources (Oracle, SQL Server, SAP, APIs, flat files, etc.).
- Build analytics-ready and AI-ready datasets.
- Support machine learning and AI projects through data preparation, feature engineering, and validation.
- Implement data quality, monitoring, auditing, and reconciliation processes.
- Optimize SQL queries, Spark notebooks, Lakehouse/Warehouse tables, and pipeline performance.
- Troubleshoot data issues and process failures.
- Collaborate with business, analytics, and AI/ML teams to deliver scalable data solutions.
- Evaluate AI-generated recommendations and analytics outputs before deployment.
Required Technical Skills
- Strong experience with:
- Python
- PySpark
- SQL
- Stored Procedures
- Data modeling and data analysis.
- ETL/ELT development.
- Data warehousing concepts.
- Experience with:
- SQL Server
- Oracle
- Azure Fabric Lakehouse/Warehouse
- Understanding of Medallion Architecture.
- Experience preparing datasets for machine learning and predictive analytics.

- Data Engineering certifications
- Machine Learning / Predictive Analytics experience
- Data Governance and Data Quality frameworks
- AI-assisted development tools (Microsoft Fabric Copilot)
