RST is currently seeking a highly motivated individual to fill the role of Payroll Administrator. Reporting to the Administration Team Lead, the successful applicant should be able to work independently and able to drive change within the Pay team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process bi-weekly or weekly payrolls for hourly employees, carriers, and owner operators.
- Process time and data imports on a daily and weekly basis
- Send Settlement to drivers, owner operators and outside brokers
- Respond to employee, manager and HR staff enquiries
- Verify, maintain and organize broker pay information and documentation
- Data entry into broker pay systems
- Process payments, pay adjustments and run reports
- Working closely with HR, Operations and JDI Payroll to ensure accurate payroll processing and reporting
- Implement and improve the documentation of our standard operating procedures
- Continuously look for ways to drive improvement within their functional area as well as the larger organization
- Support day-to-day functions of the Administration team.
Qualifications:
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Solid organization skills and ability to manage time and deadlines
- Must be team-oriented and an independent self-starter
- Good communication and interpersonal skills, with both internal and external audiences
- Completed formal post-secondary training in office administration, with a focus on payroll or project administration considered an asset
- Minimum three years of administrative and one year of job-related work experience
- Able to provide sound judgment and exercise a high level of confidentiality and discretion while working with sensitive and private information
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
- Experience with TMW, JD Edwards or ADP is an asset but is not a requirement
- Experience in Transportation & Logistics Industry would be considered an asset
- Payroll Certification through the Canadian Payroll Association would be considered an asset.
