Responsibilities
- Develop and execute detailed dispatch plans to ensure timely pickup and delivery of freight, utilizing transportation management systems and SyteLine software.
- Coordinate with carriers, drivers, and warehouse teams to schedule loads, monitor progress, and resolve any logistical issues promptly.
- Maintain accurate data entry for shipment details, tracking information, and freight documentation within systems like AS400 and other supply chain platforms.
- Analyze shipping data to identify trends, optimize routes, and improve overall load efficiency.
- Communicate effectively with internal teams and external partners via multi-line phone systems and professional phone etiquette to ensure clear information flow.
- Oversee shipping and receiving activities, verifying documentation accuracy and ensuring compliance with company policies.
- Prepare reports on dispatch activities, freight status, and operational metrics to support continuous improvement initiatives.
Skills
- Proficiency with transportation management systems (TMS), AVAAL , Motive, and other supply chain software tools.
- Strong data entry skills with high accuracy; excellent typing speed for efficient documentation.
- Solid analysis skills to interpret logistics data and recommend process improvements.
- Knowledge of freight operations, shipping & receiving procedures, and 3PL (third-party logistics) partnerships.
- Exceptional communication skills coupled with professional phone etiquette for effective stakeholder engagement.
- Ability to manage multi-line phone systems efficiently while maintaining a positive attitude under pressure.
- Familiarity with logistics terminology related to supply chain management, freight forwarding, and transportation planning.
