Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate food prep activities to ensure timely and accurate meal assembly
- Assist in preparing ingredients, sauces, garnishes, and other components for menu items
- Maintain strict adherence to food safety and sanitation standards across all prep stations
- Support cooking staff during busy service periods by ensuring ingredients are ready for plating
- Train and mentor junior prep cooks, fostering a collaborative and motivated kitchen atmosphere
- Monitor inventory levels of food supplies and communicate needs for restocking or ordering
- Uphold quality control by inspecting prepared ingredients for freshness, presentation, and consistency
Experience
- Proven food service experience with a strong background in food preparation and cooking techniques
- Previous restaurant or kitchen experience demonstrating familiarity with fast-paced environments
- Knowledge of food handling procedures and safety regulations within the food industry
- Experience in meal preparation, including chopping, portioning, and organizing ingredients efficiently
- Ability to lead by example, motivate team members, and maintain a positive work environment
- Familiarity with serving standards and customer service principles related to food presentation and quality assurance
