Summary: The Managed Services Team helps customers transform and evolve their business using cloud computing systems. As a Cloud MSP Engineer on the Managed Services team in this rapidly evolving business, you will work with established customers to ensure the successful operation of their Cloud services
Scope/Level of Decision Making: This is an exempt position operating under limited decision-making and supervision. Position performs a variety of assigned activities, referring more complex issues to the manager.
Primary Responsibilities:
Research, diagnose, troubleshoot, and identify solutions to resolve client issues
Document findings and produce walkthrough documentation where applicable
Review and respond to remote monitoring and management (RMM) system alerts and notifications
Escalate critical technical issues and support tickets when appropriate
Remotely support, manage, maintain, and troubleshoot items like networks, hardware, software, and other related peripherals
Upgrade OS and 3rd party software packages including security and system patching
Maintain and monitor system backups and Disaster Recovery (DR) environments and procedures
Utilize the following (and future) toolsets, applications, and cloud platforms:
G Suite
Kaseya VSA
FreshService
FreshDesk
PagerDuty
Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
AWS (Amazon Web Services)
Required Skills and Experience:
Previous experience in a managed services environment or similar fieldwork preferred
Ability to proactively monitor and maintain production environments with a focus on IT environmental health
Excellent documentation skills, including the ability to track, log and document customer interactions and follow-up procedures and to document findings and create walkthrough documentation
Excellent time management skills and ability to work independently in a remote or home-office environment
Understanding and familiarity with remote troubleshooting tools and methods
Minimum of 3 years experience in a technical support/network-admin role supporting:
Windows Servers (2008, 2008R2, 2012, 2012R2, 2016 and 2019)
Linux (Ubuntu, CentOS, Red Hat, SUSE, Debian)
Windows Active Directory, Domain Controllers and Group Policy.
Microsoft Server Applications such as Exchange, SQL, Sharepoint, IIS etc.
DNS, DHCP, FTP, SNMP, SMTP, IP, SSH, Telnet, NTP, SMB, WINS, HTTP and HTTPS protocols and services
Understanding of VMware and Hyper-V and other virtualized environments
Knowledge of programming/scripting languages; Python, JavaScript, PHP etc.
Task automation and configuration management utilities such as, Windows Powershell and Linux bash commands
Experience with 3rd party software installation and support
Working knowledge and remediation of Antivirus and Anti-Malware software and infections
Variety of Enterprise Firewalls, routers, switches and VPN appliances such as Checkpoint, PaloAlto, Cisco or SonicWall
Variety of Backup and DR services such as Actifio, Veritas, Commvault
Strong network and infrastructure architecture, troubleshooting and support
Excellent time management, communication, and customer service skills
Must demonstrate a security-minded focus and execution of all related MSP tasks and responsibilities.
Ability and willingness to be on-call
Preferred Skills and Experience:
Google Certification - Professional Cloud Security Engineer, Professional Cloud Network Engineer
2+ years working with support teams and using ticketing systems
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Data Science or a related discipline preferred, but not required
Travel Expectation: 15% Domestic. 5% International
Salary Range: $50,000 - $80,000 USD
