WE’RE LOOKING FOR SOMEONE SPECIAL - A trusted part-time team member
Wildflower Makery & Design is a handcrafted boutique and seasonal Creamery situated in the heart of historical downtown Liverpool dedicated to shining a light on the talents of Atlantic Canada Makers and Artisans. Beyond the shelves, Wildflower's mission blooms through community event experiences that inspire connection and creativity. When Creamery season is done, the Makery will launch into light cafe offerings year-round, in addition to its retail shop.
Wildflower is looking for someone who is looking for a little something more than a typical part-time job. Perhaps you’re retired "ish" and would enjoy spending a few days a week in a creative, welcoming environment. Maybe you’ve spent years working with people, running a business, managing a team, raising a family, volunteering in your community—or simply being the person others know they can count on.
We’re looking for someone mature, dependable, confident and trustworthy to become an important part of the Wildflower team.
This is a role with responsibility. You’ll have the opportunity to work independently, including opening and closing the shop, welcoming customers, overseeing day-to-day retail operations and helping ensure that Wildflower feels as special at the end of the day as it does at the beginning.
Visiting Wildflower is an experience. The shop celebrates creativity, craftsmanship and community, and we’re looking for someone who genuinely enjoys connecting with people and sharing that experience with them.
WHAT you’ll do:
- Welcome customers warmly and create an exceptional experience for locals and visitors
- Learn about our incredible East Coast makers and share the stories behind their work
- Open and close the shop independently when scheduled
- Operate the POS and handle transactions accurately - the shop gets very busy, so this is critical for concise inventory management
- Maintain a beautiful, organized, and inspiring retail environment during large volume sales periods and calm days
- Assist with merchandising, inventory, and displays, with an emphasis on the details
- Help with workshops, events and special projects, including setup and cleanup
- Provide light takeaway café service, including order taking and beverage preparation (Food Handler Certificate will be required upon hire)
- Work independently while also being a supportive member of our small team
- Take initiative and help us continue to shape what Wildflower becomes
WHO we’re looking for:
Someone who is reliable, mature, kind, independent, trustworthy.
Someone who takes pride in doing things well and understands that the little things matter and attention to detail is critical.
This opportunity is ideal for someone who is looking for a lifestyle role, where they want to work—not because they have to, but because they enjoy being around people, contributing to their community and spending time in a creative environment. Makers welcome to apply too!
Retail experience is an asset, but life experience matters too.
This is a part-time, year-round position with weekday, weekend and occasional evening availability required. Hours will vary depending on the season, events and shop needs.
If you’re looking for meaningful part-time work, enjoy people, appreciate beautiful things, and would love to be part of a small, creative community-minded business, we’d love to hear from you.
To apply, please email your resume along with a short introduction telling us a little about yourself and why Wildflower feels like the right fit for you.
Locally made. Wildly resilient.
Pay: $19.00-$21.00 per hour
