Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated Exploration Geologist to join our team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to mineral exploration projects through detailed geological research, data analysis, and fieldwork. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills, including GIS and data collection expertise, along with a passion for uncovering new mineral deposits. This position is integral to advancing our exploration initiatives and supporting sustainable resource development.
Responsibilities
- Strong first hand knowledge with reporting, applications and documentation with the Province of Newfoundland
- Location within 2 hours of Gander, NL
- Conduct geological surveys and field investigations to identify potential mineral deposits.
- Collect, analyze, and interpret geological data using advanced tools such as GIS, ArcGIS, AutoCAD, Python, and MATLAB.
- Prepare detailed reports and maps based on research findings to guide exploration efforts.
- Utilize GIS software and spatial analysis techniques to evaluate geological features and terrain.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including engineers and environmental specialists on project development.
- Assist in the design and implementation of sampling programs and data collection strategies.
- Maintain accurate records of field activities, sample locations, and laboratory results.
- Apply mechanical knowledge and construction experience when working on site or in related projects.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Geology, Earth Sciences, or a related field.
- Proven experience with GIS software such as ArcGIS, AutoCAD, and other spatial analysis tools.
- Strong data analysis skills with proficiency in Python, MATLAB, or similar programming languages.
- Experience in data collection, research methodologies, and geological mapping.
- Mechanical knowledge or construction experience is a plus for fieldwork tasks.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex geological data.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in outdoor environments under varying conditions.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation and reporting.

Pay: $17.72-$35.12 per hour
