The role
We are adding a Production & Warehouse Associate to our team in Courtenay. This is a unique opportunity for someone who wants to build a career with Motion. The role will initially have a strong focus on supporting the day-to-day warehouse operations, including shipping, receiving, inventory management, equipment staging and general warehouse activities.
At the same time, you will begin learning about Motion's products and developing hands-on technical skills through training and mentorship. You will learn how to build and prepare mobility equipment and work alongside our Technician to develop your troubleshooting, repair and equipment knowledge.
As your skills and experience develop, the intention is for this role to progress into a full-time Technician position, subject to demonstrated skills, training and readiness.

How you will spend your days:

Support Warehouse Operations
-
Receive, inspect, organize and store equipment, parts and supplies.
-
Prepare orders and equipment for delivery, service and customer use.
-
Pick, pack, stage and move products throughout the warehouse.

Maintain accurate inventory and assist with inventory counts and organization.

Keep the warehouse clean, organized and safe.
-
Assist with loading and unloading equipment and shipments.
-
Help maintain the proper storage, cleaning and handling of mobility equipment and products.

Build and prepare equipment

Learn to assemble, build and prepare mobility equipment and related products.

Assist with preparing wheelchairs, mobility devices and other equipment for clients.

Use hand and power tools safely and effectively.

Follow established procedures and quality standards when assembling equipment.

Develop an understanding of how Motion's products function and how they support our clients.

Develop Your Technical Skills
-
Work with the Technician to learn equipment troubleshooting, repair and maintenance while progressively taking on more responsibilities as your knowledge and technical skills develop.

Develop knowledge of manual and power mobility equipment, components, batteries and basic electrical and mechanical systems, with the goal of progressively applying this knowledge to troubleshoot and resolve equipment issues independently.

Participate in hands-on training and progressively take on more technical responsibilities.

Learn to identify equipment issues and understand appropriate repair and troubleshooting approaches.

Build the skills and product knowledge required to progress into a Technician role.

Take ownership of your day-to-day responsibilities and work independently to prioritize and complete assigned tasks.

Collaborate with the Technician and other Motion team members when support, direction or technical expertise is required.

What you bring to the role:

Hands-on Experience. You have experience working with your hands in a warehouse, manufacturing, construction, mechanical, automotive, trades, equipment assembly or similar environment. Experience working with mobility or medical equipment is an asset, but not required.

Technical Curiosity: You enjoy understanding how things work and are interested in developing mechanical, electrical and technical skills.

Willingness to learn. You are motivated to learn new products, tools and processes. You are open to coaching, mentorship and hands-on training and are excited by the opportunity to grow into a Technician role. You are able to apply what you learn, take initiative and progressively work with greater independence as your skills develop.

Problem-Solving Skills: You are naturally curious and enjoy troubleshooting challenges. You can think through problems, ask questions and find practical solutions.

Organization: You can manage competing priorities, keep your work area organized and pay close attention to detail.

Driver’s licence. You have a valid driver’s licence and a clean driving record. You are comfortable driving regularly throughout the region and safely loading and transporting equipment.

Additional requirements. You are able to successfully complete a criminal background check and are bondable.
