Role: Drafting Designer
Location: Kincardine and Pickering
Duration: 1 year to start
Pay: Up to $120/hr based on relevant skills and years of experience
Overview
Our client is seeing 2-3 experienced Drafting Designers with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in the nuclear industry and current security clearance
Under broad supervision, prepare drawings and sketches using CAD workstations and appropriate design criteria and technical manuals. Perform layout and design work and utilizes theoretical and practical engineering knowledge. Works closely with engineers to ensure coordination of designs.
Key Responsibilities

Performs layout and design work from the data supplied utilizing theoretical and practical engineering knowledge.
- Ensures conformance to applicable standards and codes, as well as company policies and procedures.
- Consults with engineering staff and technicians to ensure compliance with design specifications and has a working understanding of the engineering design process.
- Apply advanced techniques in CAD and standard design applications utilizing this equipment.
Required Education and Experience
- Minimum of 8 years of related experience is required, including completed coursework in drafting and CAD.

Advanced knowledge of CAD workstations for creating 2D and 3D drawings.

Ability to interpret and apply design criteria and technical documentation.

Ability to ensure accuracy in drawings in compliance with standards.

Excellent communication skills to comprehend, follow direction and convey detailed technical data.

Exposure to use of CAD modeling and computer programming skills.
