Schedule: Full-time, Part Time and Casual Available.
VCA Canada Animal Hospitals is seeking a dedicated Veterinarian to join our team of over 4,000 associates across 5 Canadian provinces. At VCA Canada, we provide general, emergency, and specialty veterinary services with a focus on compassionate care for pets and their families.
As a Veterinarian at VCA Canada, you will play a vital role in providing comprehensive medical care to our animal patients. You will work in a dynamic environment where teamwork and excellence in veterinary medicine are most important.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough examinations and diagnose illnesses in various small companion animals
- Develop and implement treatment plans
- Perform surgical procedures as needed
- Prescribe medications and oversee patient recovery
- Communicate effectively with pet owners to discuss diagnoses and treatment options
- Collaborate with all veterinary professionals within the hospital; Team DVMs, para staff and your network of hospitals in your designated area.
Qualifications:
- Completion of a doctor of veterinary medicine from an accredited university to allow for obtaining a licence in Canada (and per province)
- 2 years experience post graduation
- Very good diagnostic abilities
- Excellent communication skills with both clients and team members
- Ability to work efficiently
- Compassionate approach towards animals and their owner
- Excellent medical record management and documentation
- Ability to: listen to varies client feedback, work with different personalities, adjust for appt bookings, support new graduates and proving training and kind motivation to para staff.
