IT Infrastructure Specialist – IT Department

We are currently recruiting for: IT Infrastructure Specialist, based out of Nackawic, NB.
Objective:
This role ensures the reliability, availability, and security of the AVG’s technology systems and networks to support efficient manufacturing operations. The IT Infrastructure Specialist will collaborate with cross-functional teams and external vendors to maintain and enhance AVG’s IT infrastructure, aligning it with business objectives and industry best practices at the two manufacturing locations and commercial office.
Key Responsibilities:
Liaises between AVG leadership, users, operations, Business IT (Head Office, India) in the areas of systems design, modifications or troubleshooting.
Conducts capacity planning and ensures licensing and security compliance including ABG Information Security Policies.
Manage Information Security at the perimeter, end point and application in coordination with Business IT.
Ensure timely renewals of AMC, software licensing To Plan, organize, administer and supervise the functioning of Information Technology activities at the unit.
To ensure high availability of IT Infrastructure including LAN, WAN, local Servers, end user devices.
Work closely with the Unit CISO & Business CISO to ensure Information Security initiatives are implemented and the Unit is compliant.
Work with the central Infra team to ensure availability of Central Services at the unit

Planning & Budgetary Controls: Planning & execute CAPEX & OPEX budget, Tracking and utilizing CAPEX budgets for increasing efficiencies of user departments without budget over-runs in the specified period, Tracking OPEX budget with focus on consumables and spares to prevent wastages and minimize expenses, Emerging needs of the business, upgradation of infrastructure, Identifying new requirement in IT Infrastructure such as Server, Storage, Network, CCTV, Digitalization, Business data Backup and Monitoring.
Advanced Troubleshooting: Address and resolve all technical issues. This involves in-depth problem analysis, utilizing advanced diagnostic tools, and recommending solutions to system malfunctions or software/hardware failures. A point of escalation for unresolved issues.
System Maintenance and Upkeep: Oversee and contribute to the maintenance, configuration, and upkeep of hardware, software, and network systems. Ensure these systems are up-to-date, secure, and perform optimally.
Implementation of Solutions: Collaborate with other IT team members and Business IT to implement solutions, upgrades, or enhancements to improve system performance, security, and user experience.
Documentation and Reporting: Maintain detailed records of technical issues, their resolutions, and troubleshooting steps. Generate reports on system performance, outage analysis, and recommendations for improvements.
User Support and Customer Service: Provide technical support to end-users, either directly or through the support team. Address user inquiries, resolve issues, and ensure timely communication regarding the status of their requests.
Technical Guidance and Mentorship: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior members of the technical support team. Share knowledge, best practices, and techniques for effective problem-solving and customer service.
Adaptation to New Technologies: Stay updated with the latest technologies, tools, and industry trends. Evaluate new IT solutions and recommend their implementation to enhance the organization's IT infrastructure.
Infrastructure and system security: By deploying appropriate measures as per AVG & ABG IT guidelines.
Qualifications:
A bachelors’ degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or MCITP (Microsoft Certified IT Professional) would be an asset.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in IT infrastructure management, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
Strong knowledge of networking protocols, server infrastructure, storage systems, and virtualization technologies.
Familiarity with industrial automation systems, such as Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) and Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), is advantageous.
Proficiency in network administration, including configuring switches, routers, firewalls, and wireless networks.
Experience with server administration, including Windows Server, Linux, and virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V).
Understanding of cybersecurity principles and best practices, including access controls, intrusion detection, and data protection.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex IT infrastructure issues.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams and external vendors.
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
