About the Role
Our client, an established dealership in GTA-North, is seeking an experienced Sales Manager to join their growing sales team. Domestic experience is strongly preferred. Please note this is a confidential role.

The ideal candidate will bring a minimum of 2 years of automotive sales management experience at the retail level, with a proven ability to achieve revenue targets, show leadership and mentorship to the sales team, and uphold a thorough understanding of provincial regulations and compliance requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the sales team to achieve monthly and annual unit and gross profit targets for the sales department.
- Develop and execute strategies for inventory sourcing, pricing, and merchandising to optimize department performance and maintain healthy turn rates.
- Experience with new vehicle ordering, including OEM allocation processes and a working knowledge of manufacturer programs, incentives, and trim/package configurations.
- Source, appraise, and acquire used vehicle inventory through trade-ins, auctions, and off-lease or fleet channels.
- Oversee the complete sales pipeline from lead generation through to deal closing, ensuring a consistent and seamless customer experience at every touchpoint.
- Coach and develop the sales team on communication skills, phone etiquette, follow-up processes, and closing techniques.
- Collaborate with the F&I, Service, and Parts departments to ensure smooth transaction processes and strong cross-departmental coordination.
- Manage vehicle reconditioning workflow in partnership with the Service department to maintain quality standards and minimize reconditioning time.
- Utilize marketing tools and platforms and dealership website to drive traffic and increase pre-owned visibility.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and inventory aging to make timely, data-informed pricing and acquisition decisions.
- Maintain accurate records of sales activities, customer interactions, inventory status, and departmental performance metrics.
Qualifications & Experience
- Proven experience in sales management within an automotive dealership environment (minimum 2 years).
- Demonstrated success in sales performance, negotiation, and closing, including higher-value vehicle transactions.
- Strong understanding of vehicle appraisal, reconditioning processes, and wholesale and retail market values.
- A well-rounded understanding of dealership operations across Sales, Service, Parts, and F&I.
- High personal and professional integrity, with a leadership style that's present on the floor and genuinely invested in the people around you.
- A track record of setting clear goals, holding your team accountable, and driving results consistently.
- Knowledge of regulations governing used vehicle sales in Ontario, including OMVIC compliance and disclosure requirements.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills paired with strong organizational and time management abilities.
- Proficiency with dealership management systems (e.g., CDK, Reynolds & Reynolds) and Microsoft Office suite.
- Valid OMVIC certification and Ontario driver's license in good standing.
- Flexibility to work Saturdays and select weekday evenings as the role requires.
