Who are we looking for?
The Human Resources Generalist supports learning and development, performance management, manpower planning, policy and procedure review / development labour relations, payroll and benefit administration and full cycle recruitment as well as other duties as required to maintain a high level of visibility towards intellectual property and human capital management.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Oversee the Training system to ensure training is progressing per plan.
- Support WCM people development process.
- Assist in the development of & maintain training documentation.
- Maintain training data to ensure visibility of who is trained on what pieces of equipment / positions
- Develop system to track training hours per position to develop standards per position to assist in planning.
- Track training hours by month.
- Maintain and update OneHRIS on a monthly basis.
- Schedule external training, as necessary.
- Track and ensure completion of corporate mandatory training requirements and report out as required.
- Support the Orientation process by providing training relating to Human Resources Policies / processes as necessary.
- Oversee full cycle recruitment including but not limited to advertising, pre-screening candidates, scheduling second interviews, medical appointments, administering and scoring testing, background checks and any other items related to recruitment.
- Assist in manpower planning, track manpower to budget and report monthly.
- Develop and maintain workforce plans as required.
- Ensure compliance with legislated requirements.
- HR Policy development: Review and or develop HR Policies including, attendance management, disciplinary guidelines, job descriptions etc.
- Oversee the service award program.
- In the Intelex system, maintain Human Resources documentation, including Corrective actions and ensure review and updates as per program requirements and report out on inefficiencies as identified.
- Oversee Short- and Long-term disability claims, maintain contact with employees and advise management as to status.
- Performance Management: oversee & track probationary review and GEDP process to ensure compliance with internal and Corporate requirements.
- Payroll / Benefit administration: initiate employee status change forms, new employee pay change forms, sign on new employees, address questions, complete & file documentation.
- Assist with the vacation planning process.
- Oversee job postings and awards.
- Assist with Labour relations & grievance resolution as required.
- Assist Supervisors where possible to correct & update KRONOS time recording, groupings etc.
- Assist Payroll to ensure all data is correct and paid out accordingly in a timely manner.
- Assist with disciplinary actions up to and including terminations.
- Conduct timely harassment investigations as required.
- Other duties as assigned by the Department Manager.
Qualifications
- Post-secondary education in HR (Completed or in Process)
- CHRP or CHRL or related experience.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Great People & communication Skills
- Strong computer skills, MS Office.
- Punctual, Dependable, Organized, Confident, Independent
- Ability to facilitate and work in a team environment.
- Microsoft Office Skills
