Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Line Cook to join our family run restaurant. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of menu items with precision and attention to detail, as well as managing cleaning of dishes and kitchen equipment. A strong background with a minimum of five years in food preparation, cooking, and food safety, with a focus on delivering excellent customer satisfaction is required.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes and quality standards
- Food preparation (portioning, sauce-making, chopping, etc.)
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including equipment, workstation, dishes and cutlery
- Follow proper food handling and safety procedures at all times (food handlers certificate required)
- Ensure timely delivery of dishes to meet service standards (strict table flip times)
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations
- Adhere to restaurant policies regarding serving, food safety, and sanitation protocols
- Monitor inventory levels and communicate needs for restocking ingredients and supplies
Skills
- Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, and food service within a restaurant or food industry setting
- Strong knowledge of food handling, safety regulations, and sanitation standards
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent knife skills and familiarity with various cooking techniques
- Good communication skills and ability to work well within a small team
- Knowledge of meal preparation and presentation standards
- Prior experience in serving or restaurant operations is required (minimum five years)
- Passion for culinary arts and commitment to delivering high-quality dishes
Pay: From $22.50 per hour
