Overview
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Truck Driver - Class 1 to join our logistics team. This role involves operating commercial vehicles to transport freight safely and efficiently across various routes. The ideal candidate will possess strong driving skills, knowledge of heavy equipment operation, and a commitment to safety and professionalism. Candidates with experience in forklift operation, automotive repair, or heavy equipment handling will be highly valued.
Duties
- Safely operate Class 1 commercial trucks for local and long-distance freight deliveries
- Load and unload freight using forklifts or other heavy equipment when necessary
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with regulations
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation and logs
- Perform basic automotive repairs or troubleshooting as needed to ensure vehicle operability
- Follow all traffic laws, safety protocols, and company policies during transportation duties
- Assist with warehouse operations, including freight handling and inventory management when required
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients to coordinate delivery schedules
Experience
- Valid Class 1 commercial driver’s license (CDL) with a clean driving record
- Prior experience in commercial driving, freight transportation, or related logistics roles
- Knowledge of heavy equipment operation such as forklifts is preferred
- Familiarity with automotive repair or basic vehicle maintenance is a plus
- Ability to operate heavy machinery safely and efficiently in various environments
- Strong understanding of safety regulations and compliance standards in transportation industry
