- You've got real outdoor, grounds, or landscaping experience and don't mind physical work in all Alberta seasons
- You hold a valid Class 5 driver's license with a clean abstract and can operate a forklift (or you're willing to get certified)
- You take pride in a clean, organized, well-presented space, inside and out
- You're comfortable delegating to, and encouraging a small seasonal team
- You stay calm, steady, and dependable under pressure, whether it's a busy weekend, a disgruntled customer, or a truck full of trees just showing up
Description of duties: This person will own the day-to-day organization, safety, and presentation of our outdoor retail spaces and grounds, leading a small seasonal team in the spring while keeping things running smoothly and looking great... from the tree lot to the parking lot.
In this role you will be:
- Keeping the tree lot, outdoor displays, and front-of-shop tidy, stocked, watered, and shop-ready throughout the season
- Organizing overstock in garage and tent storage, and making sure available product is always represented on the retail floor
- Overseeing the soil pick-up area: signage, staffing, and pallet movement using the forklift
- Receiving incoming shipments: meeting drivers, handling paperwork, unloading with the forklift, and reconciling against packing lists
- Maintaining grounds year-round: weed control, watering, lawn care, parking lot upkeep, pruning, fertilizing, and snow removal
- Setting up and maintaining the Christmas tree lot for the holiday season
- Leading and supporting seasonal tree lot staff through task delegation, training, and day-to-day encouragement
Experience & skills required for success:
- Reliable, punctual, and comfortable working outdoors in all Alberta seasons
- Experience in grounds maintenance, landscaping, nursery, or a related outdoor role
- Valid Class 5 driver's license with a clean abstract (required for cube van deliveries)
- Forklift certified, or willing to be trained (required)
- Bonus: some experience leading, supervising, or delegating to a small team
- Bonus: horticultural knowledge, plant care experience, or experience with inventory reconciliation/shipping & receiving

Position type: Permanent, full-time (year-round). This role requires availability to work at least 1 weekend day each week, and may require up to 6 days/week during our busy season (May).
Compensation: $22-$25/hour, depending on qualifications
