Scope

Reporting to the Faculty Financial Officer, the incumbent processes various expenses, which include all operating accounts, sabbatical leaves, new faculty moves and all the other non-research related accounts. He/she assists with the budget planning and control; explaining and applying policies and procedures with respect to the Financial Information System; acts as liaison between academic departments and service units.

Primary responsibilities
Review, approve and process all faculty expense reports, travel vouchers, invoices and other expenditures related to JMSB operating accounts; ensure that all expenditures are in line with university and JMSB policies, troubleshoot and answer queries regarding these expenditures.
Process all web requisitions related to JMSB operating accounts and ensure all relevant documentation is provided.
Assist the JMSB community at large regarding the policies and procedures of JMSB and Concordia University.
Verify, approve and process all JMSB casual employee expenditures (paper and on-line); provide forecast of casual payroll for the next year and updates this information as required by the Director.
Process and reconcile P-cards.
Act as liaison between JMSB and various internal services (i.e.: Financial Services, Payroll etc.).
Receive, review and process TRAC contracts.
Train and assist staff and faculty with the Millennium system; and update relevant JMSB policies.
Perform other duties as required by the Director, Finance & Budgets.
Requirements
Diploma of Collegial Studies (three-year technical DEC) in Accounting, Finance or in a pertinent field related to the primary responsibilities and two to four years related budget/accounting work experience.
Good knowledge (Level 4) of spoken and written English and good knowledge (Level 4) of spoken French in order to communicate with relevant internal and external stakeholders and to understand documentation received.
Familiarity with Banner and Millennium financial systems and the HR system used by the University desirable.
Very good knowledge of Excel (to produce financial reports and to manipulate data), good knowledge (Intermediate level) of Word (to format correspondence and reports and update policies) in a Windows environment, and basic knowledge of Access.
Excellent organizational skills and the proven ability to establish priorities.
Good interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to multi-task and work on a variety of projects concurrently.
Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines; meticulous attention to detail.
Strong communication and negotiating skills.
Must be able to work independently and as part of a team.
Salary

$ 31.18- $ 37.54 per hour
