Position Overview
The Pipe Pressure Welder is responsible for performing high-quality pressure welding on carbon and stainless steel piping systems in accordance with approved welding procedures, project specifications, and applicable codes and standards. This position requires a strong commitment to safety, quality, and productivity while working in a fast-paced fabrication environment. The successful candidate will be capable of producing code-compliant welds, interpreting technical drawings, and contributing to the efficient completion of fabrication projects.
Responsibilities
- Perform pressure welding on Carbon Steel F3/F4 and Stainless Steel F6 piping systems.
- Weld in accordance with approved Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS), fabrication drawings, project specifications, and applicable industry codes.
- Read and interpret fabrication drawings, piping isometrics, weld maps, and welding procedures.
- Prepare materials and joints for welding to ensure proper fit-up and weld quality.
- Maintain high standards of workmanship while meeting production schedules and productivity expectations.
- Conduct visual inspections of completed welds and verify compliance with quality requirements prior to inspection.
- Work closely with fitters, supervisors, quality control personnel, and other trades to ensure efficient workflow.
- Maintain welding equipment and report any equipment deficiencies or maintenance requirements.
- Ensure work areas are kept clean, organized, and safe.
- Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and safe work practices, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Participate in quality assurance, safety meetings, and continuous improvement initiatives as required.
Qualifications
- Current pressure welding qualifications are considered a strong asset.
- Demonstrated experience performing Carbon Steel F3/F4 and Stainless Steel F6 pressure welding.
- Ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings, piping isometrics, weld maps, and welding documentation.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality workmanship.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced fabrication environment while meeting production deadlines.
- Knowledge of welding codes, procedures, and quality requirements.
- Strong understanding of safe welding practices and fabrication shop safety.
- Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting materials, standing for extended periods, and working in various positions.

Pay: $44.14-$47.08 per hour
