The Winnipeg Blues Junior A Hockey Club is seeking a passionate and dependable Equipment Manager to join our hockey operations staff for the upcoming season. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to gain hands-on experience and build a career in sports, hockey operations, or equipment management.
This position is an ideal opportunity for a student, recent graduate, or young professional looking to gain valuable, hands-on experience in hockey operations and the sports industry. The Equipment Manager will have the opportunity to work directly with players, coaches, and team staff while gaining practical experience in a Junior A hockey environment. Position Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain all team equipment before, during, and after practices and games.
- Prepare, organize, and maintain player equipment, including sticks, skates, protective equipment, and jerseys.
- Assist players and coaching staff with equipment needs and adjustments.
- Maintain an organized and well-stocked equipment room.
- Assist with laundry, repairs, sharpening, and general equipment maintenance.
- Prepare the team’s equipment for all home and away games.
- Assist with game-day setup and takedown.
- Monitor equipment inventory and communicate equipment needs to team staff.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and professional equipment area .
- Perform other equipment and team-related duties as required
Requirements
- Passion for hockey and strong knowledge of hockey equipment is required.
- Previous equipment management experience is an asset but not required.
- Reliable, organized, and detail-oriented.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment.
- Willingness to learn and take initiative.
- Must be available for all home and away games.
- Must have reliable transportation to the team’s home rink at 57 South Landing Drive, Oak Bluff, MB, as the rink is not accessible by public transit.
- Evening and weekend availability is required

Pay: From $16.40 per hour
