The Piping Kettle Soup Co. on the corner of Highbury and Huron is looking to hire for a cook/prep cook position. We are a quick service restaurant with a small but mighty team, where each person contributes to all aspects of daily service. The job requires you to work in a very fast paced busy restaurant environment where you are on your feet your entire shift. Duties of the job include accurately following recipes to cook all food from scratch, maintaining proper food safety standards, maintaining a clean and organized kitchen, product ordering based on sales projections, product organization for proper storage and FIFO standards, effective communication with all restaurant staff, as well as some customer service responsibilities. Good candidates will show up to work with a great attitude, will posses the ability to take initiative on tasks, understand food safety, have excellent food presentation, be very reliable, and enjoy to work in small yet efficient kitchen. The shifts will include days, evenings, and weekends. Please specify if you are looking for hour minimum or maximums. Previous restaurant experience is required. Food handlers certificate is required. Wage is based on position starting at $20/hr, up to $23/hr plus cash and controlled tips, increases occur based on performance and addition of responsibility.
