Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate PSW Instructor to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging and comprehensive training to students pursuing Personal Support Worker (PSW) certification. This role involves preparing students with the essential skills and knowledge needed for their future careers in healthcare support. The PSW Instructor will foster a positive learning environment, promote student success, and ensure that training standards are consistently met.
Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver instructional lessons aligned with curriculum standards for PSW certification programs
- Facilitate classroom discussions, practical demonstrations, and hands-on training sessions
- Assess student progress through evaluations, assignments, and practical assessments
- Provide mentorship and support to students throughout their training journey
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and student performance
- Stay updated on industry best practices, healthcare regulations, and educational methodologies
- Collaborate with administrative staff to ensure program compliance and continuous improvement
- Create a positive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment that encourages student participation
Requirements
The following qualifications are the minimum qualifications, and MUST be met for the primary Personal Support Worker Program Instructor:
must be a Registered Nurse (RN) or Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) with current registration and NO practice restrictions with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO);
must present with a minimum of two (2) years current, relevant work experience in a Canadian clinical environment, preferably in a long-term care/community/chronic care setting; and
meet Instructor qualification standards as outlined in the Regulations to Ontario Career Colleges Act
- Prior classroom experience in healthcare education or related fields is highly preferred
- Proven teaching ability with strong communication skills
- Knowledge of Personal Support Worker roles, responsibilities, and healthcare standards
- Ability to motivate and inspire students from diverse backgrounds
- Certification or credentialing in healthcare or education is an asset

Pay: $29.00-$38.00 per hour
