Job Description:
Reporting to the Manager, Professional Practice/Clinical Resource Team this person will be responsible for the coordination of schedules and facilitation of coverage for CRT Nursing and Allied Health professionals. They will work with the Patient Care Managers/designate to collaboratively ensure coverage across the hospital (all sites) to optimize the quality of patient care offered.
The coordinator will assist the Patient Care Managers with operational tasks associated with nursing and allied health staff (physiotherapists, occupational therapists, speech language pathologists, registered dietitians, and occupational therapy / physical therapy assistants)
Duties include:
Develop schedules for CRT and prepare a deployment calendars
Prioritize needs of departments and redeployment of nursing staff using standard hospital protocols
Facilitate appropriate coverage of patient care units during peak times and staff shortages due to vacancies or sick calls
Respond to either Patient Care Managers or designate to ascertain scheduling needs
Enter staff payroll
Build and maintain schedules and coordinate vacation requests for CRT Nurses and Allied Health professionals
Monitor statistics and productivity for nursing and allied health professionals
Track referrals from areas without designated coverage to determine changes in referral patterns and potential staffing requirements
Implement and maintain a database of staff availability and contact information, and suitability
Manage all aspects of agency utilization, booking, invoice checking/adjustments/approvals
Maintain effective communication with all units regarding status of staffing requests
Communicate with the Clinical Operations Managers after-hours regarding overall staffing situations
Must be able to work in a professional, cooperative and effective manner with all fellow staff and clients
Site of work may be Mississauga Hospital or Credit Valley Hospital
Qualifications:
Post-secondary Medical Administration Diploma preferred
Strong proficiency with MS office applications
Proficiency with Meditech and scheduling module is preferred
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Superior organizational and time management skills
Strong critical thinking skills to appropriate manage and prioritize scheduling demands
Demonstrated ability to work independently under stressful conditions
Excellent customer service skills and commitment to Trillium Health Partners values
Satisfactory performance and attendance required
