Job Summary
We are seeking a Health & Safety Specialist for a direct hire opportunity in the manufacturing, production, and operations sector within the chemicals and petro-chemicals industry. This role is ideal for a safety-focused professional who enjoys building strong programs, supporting frontline teams, and helping create a safe, compliant, and positive work environment across multiple operational divisions.
Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Health & Safety Specialist will oversee the health and safety management system across several business areas, including ready mix, fuel and propane, aggregates, and HVAC operations. The successful candidate will work closely with managers, employees, Joint Health and Safety Committee members, and regulatory bodies to maintain compliance, strengthen safety practices, and support a culture where people are trained, prepared, and empowered to work safely.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct health and safety orientations for new employees and deliver ongoing safety training to existing employees as required.
- Complete regular site inspections across locations in Simcoe County and Muskoka to identify hazards, monitor compliance, and recommend corrective actions.
- Conduct incident and accident investigations, document findings, and implement corrective action plans to reduce future risk.
- Maintain health and safety policies, procedures, manuals, records, and related documentation in alignment with applicable legislation and company standards.
- Collaborate with managers and operational teams to monitor compliance, identify safety concerns, and support practical safety solutions.
- Chair Joint Health and Safety Committee meetings, maintain PPE and safety supply inventory, and liaise with regulatory bodies on health and safety matters.

- Salary range: $58,000 to $65,000 per year.
