PURCHASING COORDINATOR
Hours: Monday to Friday 8:30am-5:00pm
Salary: $22/hr.
Purchasing Core Responsibilities:
- Responsible for direct and indirect purchasing, including the purchase of all material supplies and services to support PDI Operations.
- Work directly with our AP and Mechanical Shop for process flows as well as paperwork.
- Utilize and update computerized purchasing within our internal systems.
- Keep an up-do-date listing of Vendors and parts ordered.
- Working at negotiating pricing with Vendors for minimizing costs
- Work on improvement projects as required.
- Handle inventory and materials management and replenishment systems.
- Continuously monitor min/max levels, do comparisons for usage, reporting to Management results.
- Develop forecasts and adjust throughout as required, seeking out and recording changes (as they may occur) to original order.
- Respond and provide solutions to both internal and external customers. Escalate concerns as appropriate.
Required Skills:
- Community college certificate in Purchasing coupled with experience
- Strong computer skills, MS Office
- Software experience in TMW an asset
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Great communication skills both verbally and written
- Works well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail and analytical thinker
- Effective at problem solving and multi-tasking
- Works well independently and with little supervision
- Ability to present ideas in business-friendly and user-friendly language
- Creative, quality and results-driven
- Strong understanding of purchasing process, operations and strategic sourcing process
- Process improvement capabilities
