We are currently looking for someone to join our team from July and August (one week training end of June) in the role of Summer Camp Counselor.
Position is Full Time - Temporary. Running from July and August. Potential to carry into a full time permanent position within Kids U in another role.

Please have a Completed Police Clearance form for the Vulnerable Sector ready upon hire as well as First Aid.
Job duties include, but are not limited to:
Provide support and oversight for Summer Day Camp programming and children
Implement and maintain Kids U Policies and Procedures
Assist with regular camp activities such as art, games, sports, and others, as well as supporting children’s care routines
Supervise the children at all times, ensuring a safe environment inside the classroom, field trips, and outdoor programming.
Plan individual and group activities to stimulate growth of the executive functions skills - cognitive flexibility, working memory and inhibitory control. ( based on projects)
Daily reporting and record-keeping - attendance, allergy, medication, communication logs
Maintain up-to-date emergency cards, attendance, and health and safety checks
Spark imagination, build self-esteem and encourage children to enrich their everyday experiences using the environment as the third teacher
Collaborate with classroom teams for planning and implementation of weekly lesson plans
Utilize effective communication and strong organizational skills

Qualifications:
Alberta Child Care Certification
Post Secondary Degree/Diploma (preferable in education or outdoor pursuits)
Experience facilitating and organizing events/programs
Competent communication skills both orally and written
Standing, sitting, walking, lifting, pushing, pulling required
Ability to lift a min. of 40 lbs especially when working with infants and toddlers
Passion, enthusiasm, and knowledge of early childhood development and executive functions
At least 5 years of teaching experience with children 0 - 6 years
Knowledge and embodiment of the Reggio-inspired approach or/and Montessori
