Join the Energy Management Team as a Research Trainee within our Corporate Real Estate Management Division.
The Energy Management Team strives to maintain the City's energy management database of over 2000 properties and their utilities. Accuracy of data is a priority to assist in informed decision making and reporting.

The Energy Management Team:
Receiving work direction from the Supervisor of Energy Management the Research Trainee will be contributing to effective decision making through the enhancement of property data in the City's energy management system, researching energy strategies, and assisting with public reporting of energy data.
Collects data by working with project managers and other City staff.
Assists with organizing and presenting data collected.
Assists with compiling and consolidation of data for others to analyze/process.
Assists others with data analysis.
Assists with assembling and confirming property asset information.
Researches energy strategies and compiles best practices.
Corresponds with City staff in regards to building energy performance.
Assists with various office functions.
Travels to various locations to collect on-site data.
Your application must describe your qualifications as they relate to:
Currently enrolled in, or a recent graduate of a post-secondary degree or diploma program in Environmental Studies, Energy, Engineering or other related program.
Experience using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access and Outlook).
Experience in/or knowledge of energy management systems.
Experience conducting research and analysis.
You must also have:
Knowledge of building energy systems.
Strong problem solving, interpersonal and communication skills, both verbally and written.
Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to work in a demanding environment with many competing priorities and deadlines.
Ability to take initiative and work independently as well as cooperatively as a member of a team.
Ability to travel to various locations within the City of Toronto as required.
