Position Summary
- Processes customer invoices and submits warranty claims to GM for payment in a timely manner
- Constantly communicates with Technicians to obtain information on needed vehicle repairs.
- Ensures claims are submitted according to GM policies
- Should be capable of working independently, managing his or her time and work flow.
- Is able to cover service consultant and Appointment coordinator positions if required
Management/Business Skills Required:
- Knowledge of computers
- Knowledge of appropriate telephone techniques
- Knowledge of automotive systems an asset but not required
- Ability to comprehend technician repair order write ups
- Knowledge of warranty and service/insurance policies
What the Work is Like?
The work of the Warranty Administrator:
- Has as its major responsibility the task of getting paid appropriately, whether by customer or GM, for the work completed in the service department
- Involves interpreting technician repair order write ups to ensure submission of claims to GM correctly as well as making sure write up is clear to the customer was repair was completed.
- Requires accuracy, attention to detail, and clear communication with other team members and departments in the dealership.
- Requires the continuous updating of technical knowledge by reading service bulletins and consulting with Technicians.
- Requires a genuine concern about customer enthusiasm, as evidenced by consistent follow-through

- Must be capable of working with dissatisfied customers.
- Must have strong organizational skills and the ability to schedule jobs and Technicians under time pressures.
- Must work congenially with other team members, with Technicians, and with those in other departments within the dealership.
