In the Paralegal role you will provide broad corporate / commercial support to Tilray. You will be working alongside and in support of our highly experienced business team and legal professionals. The legal department is a great environment to learn and develop your career.
We are looking for a smart, motivated, mid-level to senior paralegal to provide support to our growing legal and compliance team.
You will have a broad range of responsibilities in support of Tilray and its subsidiaries. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, be team oriented, have great organization skills, and the ability to easily switch gears and manage competing priorities. A high level of professionalism, integrity, and discretion in handling confidential information, as well as the ability to work well with people at all levels inside and outside the company, is essential.
Role and Responsibilities
Maintaining and filing corporate records
Coordinating and receiving approvals and signatures for agreements and documents
Managing the Intellectual Property portfolio
Assisting with compliance programs and associated policies and procedures
Participating in corporate transactions (i.e., mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, partnerships, etc.) and helping to maintain the data room
Serving as an administrator of the legal department systems including e-billing, and document management
Liaising with the business and external counsel
Conducting regulatory/legislative research
Drafting and reviewing agreements and assisting with identification of legal risks and liabilities
Providing contract support and drafting correspondence and other documents
Other duties, responsibilities and projects as assigned
Qualifications and Education Requirements
Paralegal certificate/diploma, or equivalent combination of education and experience
Minimum 5 years of corporate / commercial experience as a Paralegal with an in-house legal department in a corporate environment is required
Must be able to multi-task, manage time-sensitive matters and have strong organizational skills
Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills and attention to detail
Must be able to function effectively in a busy, team-oriented environment
Computer skills utilizing MS Office are required
