Job Description
Business Unit Description:
Through our communications and our training, the Training and Department assists the business in transitioning through technology changes to the CIBC desktop and business process (procedural) changes that affect how work is done. We achieve this by developing training material and delivering training programs to CIBC Private Wealth branch staff and supporting head office employees. The training will be focused on brokerage specific applications and advisor desktop business tools that enable front office staff to effectively manage their day to day activities and client relationships.
This position requires travel on a regular basis. Incumbent may be asked to be away from home up to 10 - 25% of the time.
What you’ll be doing
As the Consultant, Talent Development you are responsible for managing the initiation, execution and delivery of Private Wealth Management Advisory Programs, and providing coaching support to program participants. The focus is to work primarily with Private Banking and the Wealth Planning group to help them in increasing the skill sets of their Advisors and Associates and their sales force effectiveness. The Program Manager will also lead and/or support the implementation of new training initiatives aligned with our business to deliver effective business and technology training to CIBC Private Wealth branches and various head office employees, along with development of training support documentation.
How you’ll succeed
Evaluate Training Needs
Maintain a high level of communication with the Branch Administrators and Branch Managers with assigned branches
Assess and analyze branch training requirements based on branch feedback
Recommend and create branch training opportunities through the identification of knowledge gaps
Develop a training plan for branch visits for assigned branches that is tailored to the needs of the branch staff
Manage branch relationships through proactive communication and sharing of best practices to ensure training needs are being met
Develop Training Material
Develop and maintain integrated and comprehensive “training” material for assigned applications
Develop and maintain “trainer” support material for assigned applications
Work with key partners to review materials and make adjustments as required
Follow the dept documentation standards for all training related materials
Complete SME/peer reviews as required
Ensure accuracy of procedures manual
Keep up to date on all supported applications and integration with the advisor’s business to ensure effective delivery of the training and that the training material is effectively maintained and enhanced when required
Delivery of Training
Deliver technology and business training to all CIBC Private Wealth users and various head office employees
Ensure that training and documentation being delivered is current, accurate and meets the needs of the end user
Deliver training programs in a variety of formats – including classroom, boardroom sessions, desk side training and web-based training
Solicit and review feedback regarding training delivery and use feedback to make adjustments for ongoing improvement
Project Management
Attend project meetings to stay up to date with project initiatives and provide feedback as appropriate
Participate in regular team meetings to stay up to date with upcoming projects and provide feedback as appropriate
Complete training activities as assigned in the project plan
Participate in national application rollouts
Leadership
Assist Director, E-Learning & Technical Design & Delivery with train-the-trainer sessions to new Training Specialists
Provide training and application overviews for new competitive recruits
Identify new training needs and or required enhancements to existing programs that allow the department to continuously improve the quality of materials offered and enhance the training delivery to front office staff
Admin
Manage personal expenses associated with training projects
Develop and implement timely communication to assigned branches on upcoming training sessions and initiatives
Complete participant tracking spreadsheets for assigned branches and regions
In Addition for Regional Trainers
Participate in branch meetings to stay up to date with the day-to-day functions within the branch
Who you are
Superior presentation skills via multiple methodologies (1on1 In-person, Larger In-Person Training, Virtual National Training sessions.
Comprehensive written and verbal communication skills
Excellent PC skills using the Microsoft suite of applications
Working knowledge of the retail brokerage industry
Fluent in French, written and communication
A valid drivers license and automobile necessary
In addition, the following would be an asset:
Previous training experience
Experience and knowledge of retail brokerage applications
Completion of Instructing Adults Certificate
Completion of the Canadian Securities Course, CPH and PFP
Extensive knowledge and skills in learning design and delivery
Completion of a university degree
Proven ability to establish and maintain relationships with staff at all levels of an organization
