Summary
Centerfire is hiring experienced Lowbed/Winch Truck Driver for work in Northern Alberta. Duties are dependent on the project — operators may be asked to transport oversized loads and equipment, gravel, or drill cuttings, often using different trailer combinations up to 40 wheeler (low-beds, super B, scissor neck, etc.).
The successful candidate will have proven experience in heavy haul trucking and be familiar with oilfield equipment (essential asset). We’re looking for safety-focused, professional operators who can handle demanding haul roads, remote sites, and variable conditions.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate trucks and trailers to transport oversized loads, heavy equipment, gravel, or drill cuttings
- Perform daily pre- and post-trip inspections and complete DVIRs
- Secure and transport oversize/overweight loads in compliance with regulations
- Operate different trailer combinations, including lowed, super B, and scissor neck trailers
- Assist with winch operations: shacks, recoveries, sea cans, and fuel cells
- Maintain accurate paperwork, logs, and safety documentation
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, supervisors, and site personnel
- Follow OH&S regulations, company policies, and client site requirements
Qualifications
- Valid Alberta Class 1 driver’s license with clean abstract
- Criminal Record Check
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in Lowbed and Winch truck
- Familiarity with Oilfield equipment (essential asset)
- Experience with multiple trailer combinations (low-beds, super B, scissor neck)
- Winch truck experience is a strong asset – including winching shacks with scissor neck trailers, recoveries, moving sea cans, and fuel cells
- Knowledge of Alberta Transportation regulations and CVIP requirements
- Strong safety record and ability to work independently in remote locations
Preferred Certifications
- OSSA or CSTS
- First Aid, H2S Alive, and other oilfield safety tickets
- May be required to obtain other safety courses
