Hi Five Chicken is seeking an experienced, results-driven Restaurant Manager to oversee the daily operations of the restaurant while delivering exceptional guest service, maintaining operational excellence, and leading a high-performing team. The Restaurant Manager is responsible for all aspects of restaurant operations, including sales growth, food safety, labour management, inventory control, staff development, financial performance, and ensuring compliance with Hi Five Chicken brand standards.
Key ResponsibilitiesOperations Management
- Oversee all daily restaurant operations to ensure efficient, profitable, and smooth business performance.
- Ensure compliance with all Hi Five Chicken operating procedures, recipes, and brand standards.
- Monitor restaurant performance, sales, labour costs, food costs, and profitability.
- Ensure opening, mid-shift, and closing procedures are completed accurately.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized restaurant environment at all times.
Guest Service
- Deliver outstanding guest experiences by ensuring all guests are greeted promptly and served efficiently.
- Resolve customer concerns professionally and in a timely manner.
- Monitor guest feedback and implement improvements to enhance customer satisfaction.
- Promote a culture of hospitality and continuous service excellence.
Team Leadership
- Recruit, interview, hire, onboard, train, coach, and develop team members and Shift Supervisors.
- Schedule staff effectively to meet operational needs while controlling labour costs.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and provide coaching and corrective action when required.
- Foster a positive, respectful, and productive workplace culture.
- Ensure all employees comply with company policies and employment standards.
Food Safety & Quality
- Ensure full compliance with Food Safe, Fraser Health, WorkSafeBC, and company food safety standards.
- Monitor product quality, cooking temperatures, holding times, product rotation (FIFO), labeling, sanitation, and equipment maintenance.
- Conduct daily food safety and cleanliness inspections.
- Ensure corrective actions are implemented immediately when standards are not met.
Inventory & Cost Control
- Manage inventory ordering, receiving, storage, and stock rotation.
- Complete weekly and monthly inventory counts accurately.
- Monitor food cost, waste, and portion control to maximize profitability.
- Coordinate with approved suppliers and ensure product quality standards are maintained.
Financial & Administrative Responsibilities
- Manage daily cash handling, deposits, POS reconciliation, and banking procedures.
- Prepare reports on sales, labour, inventory, and operational performance.
- Maintain employee files, training records, and operational documentation.
- Ensure compliance with payroll procedures and scheduling requirements.
Marketing & Business Development
- Support local store marketing initiatives and community engagement activities.
- Execute promotional campaigns and new product launches.
- Identify opportunities to increase sales and improve guest traffic.
Health, Safety & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with all company policies, employment legislation, food safety regulations, and occupational health and safety requirements.
- Maintain equipment and coordinate maintenance or repair services when required.
- Ensure emergency procedures and workplace safety standards are followed at all times.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2–3 years of restaurant management experience, preferably in a quick-service restaurant environment.
- Strong leadership, coaching, and team development skills.
- Experience managing labour, food costs, inventory, and restaurant financial performance.
- Knowledge of food safety regulations, sanitation practices, and workplace safety requirements.
- Experience with POS systems, cash management, scheduling, and inventory software.
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
- Food Safe Level 1 Certification required; Food Safe Level 2 is an asset.
