Our client's Industrial Assistance Program (IRAP) supports small and medium-sized enterprises (SME) to grow and create wealth in Canada through technological innovation. IRAP helps firms to develop technologies and successfully commercialize them in a global marketplace. They do this by providing technical and business advisory services and financial assistance to the small and medium-sized enterprises they serve.

The Technical writer will be a part of the IRAP Division Services, specifically the Program Expertise directorate, group that provides advices and guidance to IRAP’s transfer payment programs and services. The Technical Writer will be part of the back-office team that support and address emerging needs of the organization, where senior communication and coordination experience is required.

Duties include but are not limited to:
Assist in the preparation of briefings, reports, presentations and other business materials
Produce and/or maintain manuals, guidelines, user/client guides, program, documentation, training material in both official languages
Participate in teams and/or working groups, meetings, in a team environment of individuals involved in designing managing and delivering transfer payment programs
Interviewing and meeting with stakeholders to gather or clarify further business information
Interview potential candidates to assist them with the development of the Statement of Professional Development (SoPD)
Interview Staff to assist them with the development of the Statement of Professional Development for their Promotion Cases
Use the machine-learning software services/tools to support translation requirements
Provide quality assurance on business/technical English and French translation content
Review and analyze specifications, documents, presentations, reports, and other sources of business/ technical information
Revise documents/ communication based on content owner subject matter interactions
Co-ordinate activities related to proactive disclosure information and other initiative of importance to the organization
Prepare reports on disclosable information
Provide advice to management on current and future communication tools and strategy to support program delivery

About You

The successful candidate will have the following:
Enhanced Reliability clearance
Must have a certificate, diploma or degree in the area of specialization from a recognized Canadian post-secondary institution
Must have experience in providing translation and editorial revisions for materials, guides, reports for various audiences including senior management. Minimum of 48 months
Must have experience in preparing materials, guides, report, presentations for various audiences, in both English and French languages, for various audiences including senior management Minimum of 48 months
Ability to communicate effectively in English and in French, both orally and in writing
Must be available to work onsite 5 days per week/ 37.5 hours
