Marine Electronics Technician - Job Summary:
Under minimal supervision, Marine Electronics Technicians (METs) install, maintain, and repair electronic equipment on board vessels. They test, adjust, and troubleshoot components, printed circuit boards, subassemblies, antennas, and software. Experienced METs use their knowledge of electronics and PCBs to resolve various technical issues and effectively utilize complex schematics, diagrams, and manuals to perform their tasks accurately. At the end of each service call, the technician prepares and submits a detailed service report.

Qualifications required for the Marine Electronics Technician (MET) position:
- Entry level: No experience required, but prior technical training is an asset. Experienced level - 3+ years in field service and/or experience as a marine electronics technician in the commercial shipping and/or fishing industry is an asset.
- Strong theoretical and practical knowledge of electronics is essential.
- A GMDSS radar endorsement radio operator's license is an asset.
- A valid passport, driver's license, and reliable transportation are required.
- Good physical condition is required. The position often involves lifting up to 22 kg (50 lb.), climbing ladders and masts, and exposure to the elements.
- Fluency in French and English (spoken, read, and written) is required.
- Overtime and travel may be required.
