About This Role
We are looking for an HR and Human Capital Management domain expert to join our Owner's Consultant team for Phase 4 of a major public sector ERP transformation. The client is working through approximately several defined business capabilities across HR, Finance, and Supply Chain -- you will be the HR domain voice in the working sessions that validate and refine those capabilities.
The client has no internal organizational change management function and is still building that capability. While OCM delivery is not in scope, your domain expertise will naturally touch on workforce readiness considerations as you work through HR capabilities. Be prepared to flag those observations as they arise.
This is a short, focused engagement of approximately 23 days concentrated in a 6 to 8 week window. It suits someone with deep public sector HR ERP knowledge who wants focused advisory work.
What You Will Do
- Participate in Phase 4 working sessions as the HR and HCM domain expert alongside our facilitation lead and ERP Technical Expert
- Validate HR capability definitions across payroll, benefits, workforce management, talent management, and time and attendance
- Challenge existing HR processes and recommend leading practice alternatives where redesign is appropriate
- Advise on ERP configuration options for HR and HCM functions in both PeopleSoft and modern SaaS ERP contexts
- Flag organizational readiness considerations within the requirements documentation where relevant to the client's HR capability gaps
- Support the ERP Technical Expert in assessing vendor platforms against HR functional requirements
What You Bring
Required
- Functional depth in HR and HCM ERP -- payroll, benefits, workforce management, talent, and time and attendance
- Prior ERP advisory or implementation experience specifically in an HR or HCM capacity
- Ability to communicate complex HR ERP topics clearly to a mixed stakeholder group
- Available for approximately 23 days primarily between September and October 2026
- Available for at least one in-person visit to Calgary for Phase 4 working sessions
Nice to Have
- Public sector HR or HCM experience -- municipal, provincial, federal, or crown corporation
- PeopleSoft HCM module experience
- Awareness of public sector labour relations or collective agreement considerations in ERP design
