Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Medical Office Assistant (MOA), where you will play a vital role in ensuring smooth clinical operations and delivering exceptional patient care. This energetic position offers an exciting opportunity to work closely with healthcare professionals (GPs and GP-Derms), support patient needs, and contribute to a welcoming and efficient medical environment. Duties
- You will be working full time for three part-time family physicians. Two of the doctors have special interest in dermatology
- Greet patients warmly and assist with check-in procedures to create a positive first impression
- Answer phone calls, schedule appointments and assist with patient inquiries
- Manage patient records on JUNO EMR accurately, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with privacy regulations
- Schedule appointments, coordinate follow-ups, and handle patient inquiries efficiently
- Assist healthcare providers with clinical tasks such as preparing examination rooms and handling medical supplies
- Use medical terminology confidently to document patient information and communicate effectively with the team
- Assist with billing where needed
- Coordinate referrals to specialists
- Prepare examination rooms, sterilize equipment
- Support staff with inventory
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associates degree preferred Prior experience working in a hospital or healthcare setting is highly preferred
- Prior experience with JUNO EMR system is highly preferred
- Computer skills such as using SR Fax and Microsoft Words
- Willingness to learn about skin care products and aesthetic treatments
- Proficiency in using phone systems and handling multiple phone lines
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and patient care procedures
- Experience with medication administration and understanding of safety protocols
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in record keeping and scheduling
- Ability to communicate clearly, empathetically, and professionally with patients and staff. Must be a team player.
- Demonstrated ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy
