Cost & Pricing Analyst
Position Overview
The organization is seeking a highly analytical and detail‑oriented Cost & Pricing Analyst to support its Accounting and Finance functions. This position is responsible for preparing customer price quotations, maintaining accurate product costing, analyzing cost changes, and ensuring pricing decisions align with company profitability objectives. The analyst position will recommend pricing; approval stays with the Controller/GM.
The successful candidate will collaborate closely with Sales, Operations, Purchasing, Engineering, and Finance to provide reliable cost information, support formal quotation activities, and uphold pricing integrity within the ERP environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Customer Quotation & Pricing Management
- Prepare formal customer price quotations based on accurate cost data, established pricing structures, and margin requirements.
- Conduct detailed cost analysis to support quotation development and pricing decisions.
- Review customer pricing requests and provide informed, cost‑based recommendations.
- Maintain accurate customer pricing records and ensure consistency across all quoting activities
- Evaluate the financial impact of changes in:
- Raw materials
- Components
- Supplier pricing
- Labour costs
- Manufacturing processes
- Overhead costs
- Support customer price updates when cost components change.
- Monitor product margins and identify pricing risks requiring escalation.
- Product Costing & BOM Maintenance
- Maintain and update Bills of Materials (BOM) and product costing information within the ERP system.
- Review BOM revisions and assess their impact on product costs and customer pricing.
- Maintain accurate standard cost elements, including:
- Material
- Labour
- Manufacturing overhead
- Scrap and yield factors
- Ensure all costing data remains current, complete, and accurate within the ERP system.
- Cost Analysis & Accounting Support
- Analyze product profitability and gross margin performance.
- Review and interpret cost variances, including:
- Material price variance (PPV)
- Usage variance
- Labour variance
- Scrap variance
- Support month‑end costing activities and inventory analysis.
- Assist in preparing costing reports and conducting financial analysis for management.
- ERP & Reporting
- Support annual price increase programs and cost pass-through initiatives
- Maintain costing and pricing data within ERP systems.
- Prepare pricing, margin, and cost‑change reports for internal stakeholders.
- Support Finance leadership with analytical tasks and special projects as required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
- 2-3+ years of experience in manufacturing accounting, costing, or financial analysis.
- Strong understanding of product costing, pricing methodologies, and quotation processes.
- Experience maintaining BOMs and ERP product costing data.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel.
- Strong analytical skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively across multiple departments
- Syspro experience is a strong asset
- CPA preferred
Pay: $65,000.00-$75,000.00 per year
